Walk the Path

I want to cast my worries far

Throw a pillow in my car

Take a drive that points me home

Walk the woods I used to roam

Hear the laughter of the creek

Roll my pants and dip my feet

Watch the foliage start to fall

Quietly, no sound at all

Hear the rustle of the breeze

Stirring dried and golden leaves

Wander down a gravel road

Sun rays warming, hints of cold

Squirrels scurry, storing food

Knowing that the cold comes soon

I could joy in standing there

Where my roots also prepared

One like me to walk the path

Of life's unseen, the good, the bad

"Every song that I write comes from my own personal experience.  i believe the role of an artist is to interpret reality through a system of beliefs and a long-term seeking of truth, in your own life and in the world at large."  Dan Folgelberg
