Love to the moon

I cannot tell you how many times a day I find something to be fascinated by!  For some reason I must be easily intrigued.  However, it certainly keeps me busy!

This pic was taken with my little Cannon Power Shot camera, which is not typically something to try and capture moon pictures with!  At any rate it did a noble job at capturing some pretty cool detail and I - well - I was FASCINATED!

I've never done a lot of study of the solar system.  I guess I'm just busy studying all the more close-up things God has put here on the earth at my finger tips.  I think there could not be enough days in my life-time to appreciate just the details in my back yard!

Then I see THIS photo and my imagination door opens to yet more endless possibilities!  Do we not serve an incredible God who deserves so much more honor and awe than we give Him?  He created an earth...and a vast universe.  Then He made the oceans and skies.  He inhabited the earth with creatures and life abundant!  Then He breathed into the dust of the ground and created first a man, and then a woman.  Every detail was miraculous.  Everything He touched became full of magical color and life!

If He could speak simple words and bring all of creation together....if He could light the day with a dazzling sun and the night with a glowing moon....if He could sculpt a heart that beats and recognizes love....if He could count the number of hairs on each head of each individual....if He could even offer a part of Himself through His precious Son as a redeeming sacrifice for our faulty choices and short comings.....

.....then how could we doubt His ability to forgive sin and promise eternity?

Love this picture! When I was young I wanted a telescope and got one for Christmas. I remember well looking at the moon with it, and like you I was in awe. I quickly discovered how "fast" the moon moved across the sky when I would focus in on it and then watch it slide out of view as the earth rotated. But, as with you, the details of its surface fascinated me. And you are so right....we as humans are so limited when it comes to grasping God's eternal knowledge, power, and love. Thanks, as always, for sharing your perspectives on life with us.
