"Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water."  Hebrews 10:19-22

There was a time when this verse came to life to me in a way I had never before realized.  I knew that Jesus' death had bought forgiveness of my sins and salvation for all who choose to accept that precious gift.  But it suddenly dawned on me that his death bought something else as well.  In the gospel account of the story of the cross, when Jesus breathed His last breath, some miraculous things happened....one being the veil that had hidden the presence of God was torn!  It symbolized an amazing truth that would make His presence available to believers from that point forward!!  No longer would the blood of goats and bulls be necessary sacrifice for the sins of man.  Jesus became the once and for all offering, and now just as the Old Testament high priest could enter into the holy of holies, He has called US priests and invites US to enter into that amazing place of His presence!!  Truly He has accomplished great things, that we, in our humanity, could come before the God of creation and "walk in His green pastures"!!  What a blessed opportunity - to know we can communicate one on one with Him!  When we pray He is there...hearing every uttered word or thought.  If you haven't talked with Him today, take a little time to realize that it was the sacrifice of His only begotten Son that made it possible!  Amazing grace!!!
